DESCRIPTION:
Mantua, a town in the Lombardy low Po valley, founded by Etruscans, birth place of the great poet Vergilius and land dominated by Canossa Family. During the centuries-old government of Gonzaga family, it reached the most magnificence becoming one of the most important centers of art in Europe where artists and architects like Leon Battista Alberti, Andrea Mantegna, Giulio Romano, Pisanello and Luca Fancelli gave their excellences.
The passion for art and culture is still alive in Mantua, appreciated and aknowledged by Unesco. Governments has always been engaged to valorize the artistic heritage of the town also through initiatives and cultural festivals that give a world fame to Mantua.
